I'm beginning to see more and more digital art around DevART and other internet sources. I'm getting a little worried. What I'm worried about is that soon enough, digital art will replace painting, etc. I know it sounds absurd, but I'm starting to wonder if the computer revolution is going to take over every creative aspect of the world.
I have nothing against digital art, mind you, it's just that it seems to allow more people to be considered 'artists.' Not that this is a bad thing, of course, it's just that they way I see it painters' careers and future careers are in jeapordy. The more popular digital art becomes, the more people will attempt to be artists (because let's face it, digital art is a lot easier than the years it takes artitsts to finish a single oil painting), the less special art will become.
I just really hope that this doesn't happen.
